Miss Selfridge!

So yesterday I went shopping to Miss Selfridge (my favourite shop) -Mainly because I am a midget at just under 5ft2, and they stock size 4. However because I am still at school and still searching (unsuccessfully)  for a job money is tight and I find Miss Selfridge can be quite pricey so I usually find myself marching straight over to the sales area! ;)

Every time I see this dress(Perched right by the entrance) I have a great urge to buy it, but then I look at the price and tell myself that I wont get much wear out of it!-but oh it's such a battle between head and heart which I'm sure my heart will win one of these days :)
Flocked Collar Skater Dress

I love love love this dress (I need to extend my vocab) and at only £37 it's a steal. It's a timeless piece that I believe you could get lot's of wear out of. Perhaps a Polo neck underneath accompanied by a cardi and tights for winter. The only reason that I haven't invested in this piece is due to the fact that Miss Selfridge don't stock it in my size Damn!
Petites Belted Skater Dress
One thing that i'd say about Miss Selfridge is they don't stock enough skirts or rather  they do but they are not to my taste! Here are the few Basic skirts that I do like!
High Waist Mid Skater Skirt

I've been looking at this skirt for weeks and each time I see it I come very close to buying it but in the end I never go through with it! Yesterday I went into Miss Selfridge at Buchannan Galleries Glasgow and my heart sank as I discovered they had none in stock! My highly emotional reaction made me realise just how much I want/need this skirt so I think I might go to another branch and get it. I feel I'd get a lot of wear out of this skirt it would go with everything. It's also availible with clear buttons..I like both but I cant justify spending £56 on two identical skirts with different coloured buttons

Nothing much to say about this piece..It's a classic, every girl needs a black skirt! and this is the perfect one! and only £14 too!
Petites Black Skater Skirt

Stripe Skater Skirt
I appear to be into the 'skater' style, anyway i toyed with the idea of buying this skirt for a while too and now it is out of stock in every store in Glasgow! My life is full of fashion regrets!

Those old fashioned blouses that I adore!<3

Oh how I love this!! I purchased one similar to this but dare I say a much prettier light pink version. It's wonderful..I've wore it so many times and each time it looks like a different piece simply by combining it with jeggings, leggings, skirts and various jumpers and cardigans! I hope my passion for this type of blouse is oozing out through my writing!
Embellished Collar Blouse
Green Heat Stud Shirt
W-O-W-!!! Springs to mind! I can't pinpoint what exactly it is about this piece that puts it under the wow category..but the colour and silver embellishments definitely add to the wow factor
Frill Front Pussybow
  • Frill Front Pussybow
  • £35.00
  • Now I couldn't do a section on blouses without included the 'pussybow' blouse! I am ashamed to say I don't own one...YET! I will get one before the end of summer!-it's a must. I'm not sure why I don't have one..because I've gazed at them in pure loving awe since the first day I clapped eyes on them. This particular blouse is beautiful I adore the frill efect on the colour (It's even nicer in real life)

Last but by no means least....The over-sized jumper! I have recently fallen in fashion love with the over-sized jumper!
Owl Jumper

Now I know this jumper won't be everybody's cup of tea!-You wouldn't think it would be mine either but I adore this piece. It's definitely got a cute unique look with a novelty owl pattern and little button eyes!
Black Stripe Jumper

LOVE!!! Think of the wear you could get out of this-with it's basic but effective colours! Not only is it easy on the eye it is ever so soft making for a comfy stylish look!

I could go on for hours and hours when it comes to Miss Selfridge however I shan't as I don't want to bore yous any more than I probably already have... I shall leave you with one piece of advice. Don't do as I do and spend weeks lusting over a particular garment only for it to eventually go out of stock and for you to have a 'fashion break down' as you realise just how much you loved the piece! Don't ponder for too long get it before it's gone! Au revoir & happy shopping!

Wimbledon-Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, Pipa Middleton, Kim Sears and the Beckhams

I'm a little late with this blog, but the fashion on show at Wimbledon! I found it really challenging to write this blog because there was so much fashion exhibited at Wimbledon which I adored but in fear of it being too long I had to cut it down to my few favourites.  Catherine is and ALWAYS will be a fashion inspiration of mine. She posses such beauty, with an efortless look. Kate wore a Joseph sleeveless cream dress to the Wimbledon mens singles final.. She teamed the dress with an ivory Joseph jacket. The Duchess completed her look with a Diane von Furstenberg ‘Lytton’ snakeskin clutch.
Catherine Duchess of Cambridge & sister Pipa

Her sister Pipa accompanied her, looking equally as stunning. She chose to wear a pale blue and navy short-sleeved dress with a jewel neckline for the occasion.

The Beckham's were also there to cheer Andy on...well Victoria looked somewhat disinterested. She wore a forest green dress from her autumn/winter 2012 collection . Of course she wore her oversize shades and finished the outfit off with an alligator-print handbag (again from her own range.) There's no denying that Victoria has a vast knowledge of fashion (her high flying Fashion brand confirms that) and her style is first class. However it is extremely obvious that she is trying hard to look good,(her constant posing get's on my nerves)I just wish Victoria would lose the ''Look at me, I'm so stylish'' attitude. She should adopt a smile and lose the tension in her body language. For me nothing beats natural beauty something which Kate posses in abundance.
David & Victoria Beckham Wimbledon 2012
Unlike his wife,David looked excited to be in attendance at the final. I believe this guy is getting ever more handsome with age. He was sporting a 'distinguished look' at Wimbledon, with a war time hair style and classy suit! LOVE IT!

I really do envy Kim's luscious, glossy hair. According to ''The Daily Mail'' 'Sears’s basic blowout has become the most coveted in London lately, thanks to her frequent, fashionable appearances at Wimbledon these past two weeks. Mathew Soobroy, master stylist at London’s Charles Worthington Salons, told the paper. “Her style says ‘girl-next-door,’ but with a little extra gloss and bounce. We’ve experienced an incredible uplift in requests for Kim's style, exceeding requests for other celebrities [including Kate] by over 50 percent.”... Along with her perfect hair, Kim has a fresh, glowing complexion ; Her make up was beautifully simple at Wimbledon. enhancing her features without covering them up.

Scottish weather, T In The Park and Fashion! :)

Think Summer and your mind will most probably conjure up somewhat generic images. Images of music festivals, beaches, sun and warm weather!-after all summer is the warmest of the four temperate seasons. Although not always in the UK and certainly not here in ''Sunny Glasgow'' During the summer months the weather tends to vary remarkably each day. Hovever it is most often than not freezing and raining buckets! Thank God there is the odd cloudless day, and by golly do the majority of scots take advantage of it-10 tonne Guys out with no t-shirts on etc....Yes it's not a pretty sight!! With such erratic weather it's hard to know what to wear! T In The Park suffered the harshness of the Scottish weather!
When it comes to packing for UK festivals, Especially those taking place in Scotland ,music fans must be prepared for every weather condition possible. This years T in the Park saw everything from torrential rain to warm sunshine –(Mostly torrential rain)  While the ''festival goers'' are often forced by the weather to wear  the world famous ''T in the park ponchos'' The stars were left to inject the festival with some needed glamour and style..and they didn't disappoint.
Here are some of my favourite fashion choices from T 2012.......

Jessie J-T in the park 2012

Jessie J wore a galaxy print swimsuit cropped into a top by Black Milk at T In The Park. - her trademark bobbed black hair was gone, to be replaced by a flamboyant, long, wavy, black hairstyle I adored the  trouser and crop top combo!

Another star who caught my eye was Cher Lloyd. in a knee long black dress with a red heart (which I wasn't fond of) on the front and slick gold boots; I was captivated by Cher's hair, dyed a warm summery red curly  and lightly pinned back

Now I cannot write a Blog about T in the park without including Miss T in the park herself...Edith Bowman. I don't like to oppobriate Edith because she is a fellow Scot! However I abhor her new hair style! she has had her hair cut to a short, above her jawline, bob. I couldn't believe my eyes when I seen her on the TITP highlights. I've felt that she needed a new style for years but that was certainly not the style i had in mind for her. Edith is not and never will be a fashion inspiration of mine, that's not to say that she hasn't made some exquisite fashion choices over the years. Here is one of my favourite ''Edith pieces''
Edith presenting for the BBC at the Royal Wedding
presenting for the BBC at the Royal Wedding Edith wore a pink high-waisted skirt by Emilia Wickstead. A cropped sleeve top and cream platform heels by Laurence Dacade. Edith's outfit attracted copious amounts of criticism ..described by one critic as being “so mumsy that both Hyacinth Bucket and Susan Boyle would have rejected it”. I must admit I am a sucker for the 50's look and I believe she pulled it off! What I especially liked/admired was the fact that Edith had the effrontery to change her style for the event! (She usually sports a 'rock chick' style. As we see each year at T.)

I have a soft Spot for Noel Gallagher! I don't know what it is about him...I guess it's his carefree, cheeky ''I'll do what I like, when I like'' attitude.  Noel has changed considerably since his Oasis days. He seems to have become a distinguised, dare I say sensible middle-aged man. During his set Mr Gallagher could not refrain from dedicating a song to “all the Man City fans,” However Noel showed that he hadn't lost his ''cheeky chappy'' side by shouting “F**K you” to a member of the crowd who was vexed by the dedication.. I have nothing to say on his style other than ''This is what perfection looks like
